What the Glasgow study on commercial juices doesn’t say is that purple grape juice contains more than 50 per cent more sugar than Coca Cola, which comes to 16.66 g of sugar (glucose and fructose) per 100 ml of drink. An excessive intake of fruit juices could be harmful altogether. Furthermore, juices are processed food, quality depending highly on the type of process. Why not simply eat fresh purple grape to take advantage of the polyphenols contained in the skin of these fruits?
